I cannot get my files to open after trying to download a virus program, (Defender Pro)?

I tried unsuccessfully to download an anti virus program that i purchased. One of the features was a PC Repair module and an Anti Spy feature. I found after I downloaded the software I cannot open any of my Word folders, or any of my folders such as "My Computer". When the folder is clicked it opens but there is only a white screen, no icons. At the bottom of each page it shows the number of items that in the folder, but I cannot see any of them!! I think the program has hid the info in the folders for some reason. If I open in safe mode I can see all the info in the folders. I tried to go to System Restore but it is a white, blank screen, even in safe mode. could someone please help me? I know it is probably something simple I need to do. thanks so much for your time. first of all, for pity's sake, dont purchase all this crappy antivirus software when the freebies out there are generally better. if system restore didnt fix it, bleh, remove the program and ffs download this, free-av.com it does the job. and if anyone else sees this answer, ffs plz research available antivirus software, with the almighty GOOGLE. half the purchase + download antivirus software is 99% of the time a friggin fake and a mondo virus and ticking timebomb. i preach free-av.com as i've used it for several years as a gamer, its not the best out there, but like i said, the classic edition is free and does the friggin job better than mcafee, zonealarm, norton (puke). seriously, spread the word. ps: reformat bud :) vamp pss: ignore rabbit, manually removing this type of sh1t is a pain in the ***, reformat... :)
