I have an anti-virus software but doesn't seem to be helping in getting rid of this crap. Please help

My computer keeps getting pop ups and it says something about malware, any suggestions on getting rid of this?nortin

If you have a problem with pop ups it means you have spy-wares or malwares that they have infected your computer.

Install ''Ad-aware 2007'' or another anti-spy-ware program.

do you have a popupblocker turned on in your browser?if so, you need to use a reliable spy ware removal program, counterspy is a good one and you can get it free for 30 days but is well worth the investment when you do have to pay for it
Pop-ups are mostly caused by ad ware, spy ware, and other malicious and unwanted software.

can help you detect and eliminate all spy ware /virus /ad ware /Trojans completely.
That is smitfraud...Get smitfraudfix by looking on google...or download.com Good luck!
Do not download or buy anything the pop ups are telling you because they are trying to scam you. Download Rogue Remover to scan to computer for rogue applications and remove everything it finds.

Is there a company that is NOT using the ';green'; thing as a marketing ploy?

Is there a company that is NOT using the ''green'' thing as a marketing ploy?

I just got an email from Symantec that said ''Go Green with Norton and save.'' Uh, what does anti-virus software have to do with the environment?

Is there a company that is NOT using the ''green'' thing as a marketing ploy?norton 360

What's especially annoying is that there is no clear standards for ''green.'' It might mean that it doesn't harm the environment, but it could also mean that it doesn't harm the environment as much as something else. It could also mean that the company manufacturing the ''green'' product uses recycled plastic garbage bags in its corporate office, thus saving the environment...

You have some very good answers here.

I agree that the Green movement seems to be a bit trendy at the moment and that there is not clear definition or standard as to what constitutes ''green practices.''

Like ''Made in America'', the Green concept will enjoys its heyday as a marketing ploy until the next big idea comes along to supplant it.

If I were you, I'd contact Symantec and ask them how they justifiy their message to you. I'd love to hear how they respond to you. Congratulations for keeping them on their toes.
Not talking specifically about anyones product but if a 'fad' is saving the environment as opposed to destroying it... I personally don't care if they market themselves as 'green'. I hope every company gets on this band wagon and rides it as long as possible.
As long as people respond to ''green'', marketers will use it. Periodically, you see ''Made in America'' campaigns. Fads come and go, although ''green'' may be a particularly long-lived fad.

Can't view videos on You Tube?

Never had any issues in the past - the only thing different is I now have avast as my anti virus software as opposed to norton.

I can go into the site, and see video thumbnails but when I click on a video to watch it comes up with a blank space - all comments etc can be seen etc, so screen looks normal apart fromblank space where video should be. Not trying to look at anything dodgy so no reason for any block etc.

BTW I can view videos etc on other sites eg. newpapers bbc etc

Any help greatfully appreciated!

Thanks

First disable your Avast, Anti virus, and see if the videos load then, if not, then I think there might be a problem with YouTube, they might be doing some maitnance idk...

How to install AVG without uninstalling norton??

so norton expired, I need to install a new anti-virus software that works....? AVG requries to unintall norton first, but can i just disable norton without unintalling it?

How to install AVG without uninstalling norton??norton antivirus 2007

From everything I've ever read about Norton, it's unlikely that it will let you get away with simply disabling it. Heck, it doesn't even want to cooperate with another antivirus when you do a conventional uninstall... you often have to use the Norton Removal Tool!

How to install AVG without uninstalling norton??product key

You can't , they interfere with each other if you install both thats why program won't let install it. Just uninstall norton. A virus program that gets updates is better than a virus program that doesn't get updates.

P.S.- you'll love how your computer runs after you uninstall Norton.
That is the result of softwre conflict, if you wanna more than one antivirus in your system it may slower down. In my view you should uninstall nortan first than install AVG. After this upgrade the virus data base from internet.

Happy Computing..........
Norton is worthless...I know...lost two pc's with it.AVG is great stuff,,,had for a few years,,,nothing gets through it.
if you want 2 antivirus at one time, use avg and avira. i've been using them in my laptop for almost 6 months now. not have to worry about virus anymore.

  • I am having trouble with pulling up the Vampirefreaks.com website.?

I signed up for an account. Then today when I tried to check it I entered the wrong password, when I went to fix it the webpage no longer came up. I am not having trouble with ANY other site. When I type the address into the browser it takes a long time to react, then it reroutes me to Google with links for the site, when I click that, it tells me ''Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage''. I do not have anti-virus software, and my brother just did a recovery on his computer. I was having some issues viewing the site prior but at least I could view it before. Would this be something wrong from my end? Or does the site have an issue? Thanks for your help! ^^

What does it mean when a balloon just popped up in my bottom right taskbar saying my virtual memory

it said it was increasing space for page files or something and then went away, is it something I need to worry about. As an FYI, I recently installed a new Norton Anti-virus software.

What does it mean when a balloon just popped up in my bottom right taskbar saying my virtual memory is low?norton ghost

First uninstall Norton's, it's a scar on your computer. Get something free like Avast, AVG, and/or Windows Defender.

Now, to adjust your virtual memory:

    go to control panel:

System, Advanced, Performance Settings, Advanced, Virtual Memory

You can now adjust your virtual memory. Move it up just a little bit. The best thing to do, though, would be to not use as many programs at once. That's what eating up your memory.

Ususally it means that there are too many items starting up when you start your computer. Check your tray (over by the clock) and change when the program starts.
Sounds like it might be time to run your defrag program. After I did that I had 1/3 more memory on my laptop.
    Hello:

Virtual memory is your memory paging file. That's the file is uses to extend your physical RAM. It's usually called ''pagefile.sys'' and is located, normally, at the root of your system drive.

Do you think this is flirting?

i asked this guy i know to advise me on which anti virus software i should download on my computer. he told me one and said ''just dont enter credit card stuff on it or go on porn and it will be fine....''

i replied and said '' i expect u would know about goin on porn'' then he goes ''tbh i bet u do 2''.. is that a flirtatious reply from him or not?

Do you think this is flirting?norton internet security 2008

I think he was dropping the hint that he would like to see your porn collection. I'll bet if you show him yours then he will show you his.

Do you think this is flirting?spyware removal

I think you flirted with him 1st then he replied to that. I agree that it depends how he said it if it was flirty or not, if he was laughing it was more a friendly comment, if he gave a smile defenately flirting!!
    Yes, but you started it.
I agree with Xai above. Yes it is, but after what you said, what exactly did you expect him to say?
    Yeah, but you flirted first.
accusing someone of looking at porn is flirtatious? yeah, and romantic.
I think it depends more on how he said it?

If he was laughing about it, it may be a more

friendly vibe. But if he was smiling, then it

probably was meant to be more flirty. If I'm

wrong, my bad, but that's how it is for me =]
    hey baby
you started the flirting by asking him about the porn but sure never worry its good to flirt
harmless flirting unless you like him and he dont like you or he likes you and you dont like him then some 1 could get hurt but if you dont no but yes tht was flirting but dont worrie about it
