When I open Yahoo IM it begins sending offensive and profane messages to everyone on my list?

I have run spybot and Ad Aware as well as have anti virus software so cannot figure out how to make it go away and stay away. It keeps coming back even after I remove all the stuff that is found by the above programs

You may want to try a couple of online virus scans, not all anti viruses are created equal. It can't hurt to try more than one.

keep in mind, if you are infected with a rootkit, even though you delete the malware found...the rootkit will continue to re-install them.

Many rootkits are undetectable by most anti viruses.

And be sure to disable system restore prior to scanning!

it might be hidden in the code for messenger itself.

Try

1) stop using IE!!!! Download Mozilla or Firefox. This browser is much stronger against worms and varriants.
