Norton, McAffee %26 Kaspersky do use a lot of resourses so either may slow your system down.

I have listed a few antivirus, anti spyware and firewall applications that are available for download and are completely free: I will not get involved with the rights and wrongs of each package or its effectiveness or indeed the 鈥淭his is best鈥?or 鈥淭his is crap鈥?statements. Whatever you do, just make sure you have one of each type installed, updated and fully working:

all a/v products slow down your box, however the protection that kaspersky gives you is second to none!.

Also it is highly configurable and a very good product.

i use kav 6, and i in 2 years have had no situation that kaspersky could not handle.

Look on e bay, there is a guy that sells the licenses very cheap. mine was 9.50 gbp for a 3 year license, it is not in the same league as the other a/v's mentioned, it is way way ahead.
