How to back up files before reformating hdd?

priorly I mean programs,anti virus softwares,their keys etc?besides pictures of course?is there a way backing them up so they can wait for me preserved and ready in new formated drive?

you need to find all the files that you need and copy them on a folder



then write those files on a cd or dvd

If you want to save all of that off, you will have to do an image of the drive which will make it a bootable device, an exact mirror. Everything will be copied.



Otherwise just get your data and reinstall the programs.

Programs usually don't get backed up because they need to be installed on a new computer. You back up files, you don't backup programs you reinstall the program.
