Hi,
Sent some info from my work address to my personal address. Is this illegal? Got fired for it even though the info will only ever be seen by me either at work or at home and I have every anti virus type software there is.
Is it illegal to send info from work from work email to personal email?!?
Depending on the content, it could have been considered illegal disclosure or not protecting confidential records. This is very rampant in health industry, and obviously national security type jobs. If it is illegal, you would undoubtedly have known it would be illegal, and it would be part of your former employer's duty to report it as illegal activity now.
Saying that, I doubt it was truly illegal in your case and they may be trying to intimidate you for some other motive. I have seen this happen before to intimidate people from trying to seek unemployment - for instance.
Depending on the situation, and if you did not sign a non-disclosure agreement or internal corporate email use policy, then I would not worry about any of it at all...
As in all potentially legal matters, you may want to run it by a lawyer, if you have one in the family or circle of friends.

Sending e-mail is not illegal. That company may have had policies in place about using personal e-mail or web viewing that they may have had in place. Whatever the particular info was could also have been confidential. Either way, they should have explained why they fired you. The HR department would have to explain the precise reason for your firing.
This will depend on your company's email/computer policy. I don't think it is a national law.
