Regarding my computer security, is it better for me to install 2 anti-virus softwares or just 1 anti-virus?

One. And one firewall.
Anti-adware/spyware/malware are ok to have more of.
Should you run more than one antivirus program at the same time?

Symantec strongly recommends that you run only one antivirus program at a time. Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts. Your best defense against computer viruses and malicious programs is to keep your virus definitions up to date, and run Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect. If you choose to install more than one antivirus program on your computer, then only one of them should be active in memory at a time. (The Norton AntiVirus module that is active in memory is named Auto-Protect. Other antivirus programs will have different names for this function.)

one anti-virus, if you add any more it will slow your computer down and maybe a conflict between two or more virus protections.
Running more than one antivirus will crash your system and make many errors,it's not recommended at all.....each antivirus won't be able to do it's job as right as it should be.
just get a mac it has know virus's
It could either be good or disasterous...As long as the files used by the scanning engines don't conflict in any way, then you will have extra protection, but typically you will run into conflicts in the DLLs, RPCs, and services called upon by 2 different virus scan programs, which will drastically reduce your protection. I would stick with a single solution.
One ANTIVIRUS and One SPYWARE and FIREWALL
Only 1 anti-virus. Running more than one can cause problems. Below is a list of free programs, some of which you may want to consider installing on your computer. Since they are free, you may be required to manually check for updates, enable protections and run scans every week or so.
