Its an old shared folder for limewire. Whenever i try to open it or even put the cursor over it windows freezes and explorer needs to be reset. I cant figure out why its doing this or how to even delete it. Ive scanned with two anti virus softwares a spyware detector and even tried deleting it in safe mode. Any ideas short of deleting everything?
Cant open a folder?stinger
I would try it by using a terminal window and deleting it through command line.
What windows version are you using? and do you know where the limewire folder is located?
I can pretty much give you the command and syntax to delete it if I know where it is?
if you know the path to the shared folder for example in Vista mines located Here ----%26gt;C:\Users\newos\Shared
to delete via terminal command line I would go to "Start" then "run" ... type in cmd ---%26gt; the terminal window will open.
I would then type:
rmdir C:\Users\newos\Shared /s You want to make sure that you get the correct directory!
______________________________________...
go to "Start" then "run" ... type in cmd
then copy and paste this text in
rmdir c:\documents and settings\frank\shared /s
after hitting return it should ask for a yes or no responce Y/N? type y and return
let me know what the terminal says .... if it says nothing then it should be gone!
